Winter is just around the corner :

Hi everyone,
I am still trying to climatize to the freezing weather now that I am back home after 4 weeks in Queensland but seeing Winter is only 2 days away - I guess I shouldn't complain too much as I prefer Winter to Summer...

There are so many Challenges out at the moment that I don't know where to start.  Firstly there are only a couple of days left with Sketches with a Twist - if you enter this Challenge your entry entitles you to receive 25% off Manor House Creations flowers from The Hut... Black with Two's June Challenge is due for release on the 1st June - keep a look out for this one -  had fun creating my layout for this and the DT lineup for BW2 is awesome... http://blackwith2challenge.blogspot.com.au

Due to coming down  with the flu, I didn't manage to make the 4 day Retreat in Brisbane  last weekend- but - hopefully next year. 

At least with not attending the Retreat, I have enough kits made up to keep me busy on Friday for the monthly scrap in Wagga at Senior Citizens Rooms - it will be great to spend the day and night scrapping and catching up with everyone.

The Hut's May Challenges

The Scrapbooking Hut's Challenges are now up in the Forum... they are:

Challenge No 1:
Create a single page layout using two photos - one of which must be a portrait (dimensions up to you) where the photos do not contain people - may be animals, scenery, etc.
You must use the following:
Distressing, fibres (no ribbons), 3 embellishments (but not flowers), journalling and a title.

Challenge No 2:
Using multiple photos (4 or more) create a single page layout together with laces, ribbons or fabric. Multiple flowers and embellishments. Journalling (ofcourse..lol) and a title.

Challenge No3:
Create one card - fully completed including verse - may be on any topic - dimensions of card are to 6x6.

HAVE FUN WITH THESE - DUE DATE NOW - 10TH JUNE 2012.  :)

Sketches With a Twist

Well there certainly nothing like doing you Blog posts every 6 months...lol... I have been a little bit busy and a little bit lazy so please forgive me...
This month I was given the opportunity to be the guest designer on SWAT - http://sketcheswithatwist.blogspot.com.au/ - the Sketch is awesome as you can see :

 and this is my take on the sketch.  I had so much fun doing this LO - photos are of my darling Uncle who passed away last year and my Auntie (who I refer to as my big sister - because I don't really have a sister..)

The flowers I used are Kaisercraft (large black one) and a gorgeous pale blue flower from Manor House Creations, which I now stock.

What an awesome Challenge for this month:
Dominant black cardstock base with baby pink and aqua.

Bo Bunny's Father Christmas Range

I love the vintage look of this collection.  I don't scrap a lot of Christmas LO's but thoroughly enjoyed doing this one.

Oh my don't we all just love getting parcels, especially when they turn up a week before they were expected and naturally now available at The Hut for less than RRP....lol.  Unpacked the gorgeous new releases from Bo Bunny (et cetera and Father Christmas).  I have managed to whip up a LO this afternoon using ETC and tomorrow I will tackle Father Christmas.  The range is gorgeous and, as usual, my LO certainly doesn't do it justice..... cheers :)

The Scrapbooking Hut's Monthly Challenge

The Monthly Challenge has one week left before I choose a LO that follows the criteria, but also has balance...
I am currently working on mine and enjoying getting my hands dirty with Glimmermist and inks..
You have to be a member of The Hut's Forum (which is free to join) ... here is the criteria:
Single or double Layout with as many photos as you like and using the following:


1. Hand stamped ribbons or laces;
2. Flowers
3. Texture (how you add your texture is up to you)
4. Journalling tag partially hidden.
I am looking forward to seeing what you all come up with.

Oh my goodness

I can't believe that it has been sooo long since I posted..lol.. just been kinda busy I guess. 

I have been scrapping away, having holidays, visiting family and for the first time in my life - today I applied for a DT position with Black With Two...if anyone is interested in this entries close 20th August but pop over to check it out and get all the details..blackwith2challenge.blogspot.com.

What I am up to of late.

Well, today housework and more housework...ugh. Finally got to the point where the house looked and felt clean until the wind started to blow again and we got the topsoil off the neighbours (of several miles away) back in the house again.

I have been scrapping my little heart out.

I am really taken with Challenges at the moment and have just completed 2 of these:

I also did a 'Follow The Leader' challenge with Crafting In Style which was fantastic.

I am signing up for the 7 Deadly Sins Challenge with Wicked Princesses (http://www.wickedprincesses.com.au) which should be loads of fun.

I am heading off on Sunday to an Acrylic Album Class in Tarcutta and looking forward to that and catching up with heaps of girls that I haven't seen for ages - will keep you posted on how this goes and as I have a few Acrylic Albums but not sure where to start with them.
